Service and Technical Support Engineer The Technical Support Role.

The applicant will be office based in Bury St Edmunds and will be a technical resource for customer queries, and product evaluation work. The applicant must be able to articulate both technology and product positioning to both prospective and existing users with respect to Uson Leak Detection Products and be able to accurately communicate customer requirements to and from Uson Sales Engineers

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluation of customer products and determining full test parameters.
  • Responsible for constructing and presenting the evaluation report to customers and for recommending the correct solution for the application.
  • Able to make contact with prospective clients and be prepared to support the external sales force as required.

The Service Role Responsibilities

  • Provide service support for all Uson products
  • Carry out routine maintenance, calibration and emergency service, predominately at Bury St. Edmunds, otherwise, on the customer's premises.
  • Provide In house administration cover when required
  • Take responsibility for the UKAS calibration schedule of all service calibration equipment used both internally and externally.
  • Organize your own visit schedule when appropriate
  • Make sure you are aware of any payment issues with customers before any visit is made or repaired/calibrated equipment returned.
  • Work closely with Sales Engineers to identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Procedures are adhered to.
  • Reporting directly to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must be able to communicate professionally with , emails, presentations, and report generation. Candidate must be self motivated, organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches, and be prepared for occasional travel.

  • relevant experience in instrument sales and/or service
  • Experience and familiarity of similar Quality Control products is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • A good technical qualification is strongly preferred together with good practical ability.
