Important News For Vector Owners.
Not all good things must come to an end.
Uson launched Vector in 2002, that’s almost 20 years ago. Since then this powerful multi-channel, multi-function leak tester has established itself as the go-to choice of machine builders and OEMs in the automotive, medical device and industrial products industries.
Looking back, it’s fair to say that Vector was way ahead of its time and we have kept it current all these years by introducing new features and software. However, as we all know, computer hardware and software development has grown at an exponential rate over the last 20 years and some of the new developments in those areas have not been compatible with Vector.
But I have great news.
Vector Upgrade Service is Available!
We have launched a comprehensive upgrade service for existing owners of Vector testers in 3U and 6U format. Benchtop models are not upgradable but users of these models can choose a functional equivalent.
With the upgrade comes Windows 10 functionality, providing enhanced data and network security. The existing Vector MCU has reached end-of life and we are replacing it with a new high performance product that is readily available. Lastly, we have a new digital display which greatly improves visibility, leading to a better user experience.
Getting the upgrade is simple! First you contact us with the serial numbers of the Vector units you want to upgrade. The serial number will allow our service team to research and audit your equipment and build details to determine all the components, including secondary I/O boards, needed to perform the upgrade.
Once we’ve collected all the information, we will coordinate the upgrade and scheduling with your local service representative. The local representative will contact you directly to schedule your upgrade service. The upgrade takes one or two days during which time our service engineer will download your database, install the new MCU which is preloaded with Windows 10, install the new display and upload the database. Some validation tests will be run to ensure that everything is working correctly.
Because the MCU has reached end of life, we strongly recommend upgrading. Older units present security risks since the latest security patches cannot be applied. Older testers will need to be upgraded if the MCU ever fails because it is no longer available. If you are not ready to upgrade immediately, we recommend that you disconnect your Vector from any LAN.
We are delighted that we are able to continue to support Vector with this upgrade so that our customers can continue to benefit from the versatility and features built into every tester, with Vector delivering exceptional value for many years to some.
